Doc Manager — quality documentation, as doc-as-code
A side project that lets the quality teams of companies in the health sector write, check and publish their regulatory documentation from versioned Markdown files, and produce PDFs in their own house style.
In the health sector, quality documentation — processes, procedures, instructions, specifications, templates, change control — has to meet strict regulatory requirements. Doc Manager keeps it in Markdown, versioned in Git: every change is tracked, attributed and reversible. The tool makes this way of working usable by quality teams made of non-developers: everything happens in the browser, with nothing to install but Docker.
It shows the document tree, with the source text and its PDF rendering side by side. Each document follows its lifecycle: draft, review, approval, then obsolescence. An author, a reviewer and an approver are named, and each step is tied to a commit. The export produces a single PDF in the company's colours, with the reference, the version, the revision table, the table of contents, the approval box and the initials. Diagrams are written in Mermaid and drawn automatically. Existing documents — Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, even scanned — are converted to Markdown on the workstation, with no outside service, then submitted for review.
Automatic checks keep verifying that the writing rules are followed: required fields, a reviewer distinct from the author, version and date formats, valid links, file naming. AI agents proofread the spelling and language of the documents and report their findings. The tool is built on Wexample's Board platform, which orchestrates the processing, the checks and the agents.
